About This Place

A place for the pivot.

A place where we explore the pivots that bring us home to ourselves — through Paris, entrepreneurship, beauty, and the art of recognition.

The Paris Pivot began as one founder's account of building a company and a life in France at the same time. It has grown into something wider — a place for anyone standing at the edge of a similar decision: to leave what's known, and build something that doesn't exist yet.

"Do not dismiss your idea simply because the company does not exist yet. Mine didn't."
— The Paris Pivot

Introducing The Founder's Companion

A companion, wherever you're building from.

Read it at your desk before the meetings start. Bring it on the flight. Keep it open on the table while the notaire explains what's next. It's built to be lived with during the specific, disorienting months of building a business and a new life in the same season — not filed away after one read.

The Founder's Companion

Written from inside the process — the Talent Passport application, the 109-page dossier, the company that didn't legally exist yet. Not a legal guide. A companion for the specific, disorienting work of building a business and a new life in the same season.

"Your next chapter begins here."

Why This Exists

The process was straightforward. It didn't feel that way to me.

Most guides give you either the paperwork or the story. This one gives you both — the exact order documents were requested, what each one is actually for, and the emotional weather of building a business and a new life in the same season. I wrote it because I couldn't find a companion like this. It's exactly what I wished existed when I was applying.

— Leslie Kwan

"The company did not legally exist when I began preparing the project. I had made the future business legible before it became real. That is what I know now."

Her professional journey includes roles in sales at CHANEL and in marketing and strategy at the Boston Symphony Orchestra. A visionary entrepreneur, she has also founded a French baroque orchestra and developed chamber music series for major cancer and pediatric hospitals in both Boston, MA and London, UK.
